Nite VISION

Dave Cornthwaite is a British adventurer, author, motivational speaker and part-time dating expert!  Dave's adventures are largely shaped by a passion for combining sport and travel to encourage people to look after their own little corner of the planet by thinking big, staying healthy and smiling as much as possible.  Dave is probably best known for his Expedition1000 project, an ambitious series of twenty five journeys of at least 1000 miles in length, each one using a different method of non-motorised transport. Dave hopes to raise £1,000,000 for his selected charities by the end of the project, which will take him across three oceans, to both poles, and to every continent on Earth.  In 2007 Dave broke the Guinness World Record for the longest skateboard journey when he crossed Australia, a five month, 3618 mile expedition that led to his first book, BoardFree. Also due to be published is Up The Creek, about Dave's 2480km descent of Australia's Murray River. His next book is 'Date', the hilarious story of Dave's attempt to find a girlfriend by trying to date 100 women in 100 days. In the Summer of 2011 Dave completed the 4th journey of Expedition1000 by paddling a record-breaking distance of 2404 miles from source to sea on the Mississippi River, by Stand Up Paddleboard.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dave in Little Falls, Minnesota at our family picnic. He spent a lovely afternoon with us and it was great getting to know him and talk about his journey.

Well done Dave. Im currently in Antartic doing Seismic Research. Im retired HM Forces but now an advanced aged adventurer , 55 Yrs !  when not doing marketing back home in Australia, Im wearing the Vision VS4, left it out the other night with my kit as I dozed off(im allowed now to doze off , laughs), it sunk to -42C below outside , so it was good to find my VS4 stil ticking away despite encrusted with thick ice. I got a MX10 too, but yes they are extremely robust . Good luck with your ongoing adventures Dave,, Kind regards Mick Scott
